Stephen BarstowStephen Barstow
Partner

Stephen first joined Alasdair MacArthur in 1987 and took over the running of the Claines surgery. 4 years later he became a partner and has been here ever since. As well as being involved in all aspects of running the small animal surgery his special interest is in exotics and wildlife, in fact he enjoys seeing anything which is slightly less usual. At home, apart from keeping many animals, Stephens main interests are in building and property renovation.

 


 

Anne GibbsAnne Gibbs
Partner
 
Anne qualified from Bristol University in 1991 having obtained a degree in Pharmacology. She worked initially in mixed practice in Oxfordshire before returning home to join the practice in 1993. Anne works in the Large Animal Department dividing her time between farm and equine work. She provides veterinary cover at Hereford and Worcester racecourses and is currently chairman of Association of Racecourse veterinary Surgeons (ARVS).
Anne is studying a further qualification in Sheep Health Production and has particular interest in flock health.

Away from the practice Anne enjoys farming, NH racing running and keeping up with her two teenage children!

 


 

Phil WhiteleyPhil Whiteley
Partner

Originally a farmer’s son from Yorkshire, Phil ended up at Cambridge University vet School, qualifying in 1997. He moved straight to Worcestershire initially doing mixed work at another practice before moving here to MacArthur Barstow & Gibbs in 2000. This allowed him to concentrate on farm and equine practice specialising in these areas since 2002.

 


 

SteveSteve Odell
Partner

Steve joined the practice in December 2011.  Qualifying from Glasgow University in 1996 he has worked in mixed practice in Leicestershire and Worcestershire before specialising in small animal practice, spending nine years in Birmingham.  He enjoys equally the medical and surgical challenges of veterinary life but is happiest when in the operating theatre. Steve has recently gained a certificate in orthopedic surgery Married with two children, he is a keen cricketer and golfer, as well as being a qualified hockey umpire.
