Michael qualified from the University of Bristol in 1981. During his career he has gained invaluable experience in all aspects of veterinary medicine. His expertise and reputation are widely recognised as an equine practitioner.  He founded Woodlands Veterinary Clinic on 3rd August 1992.

Greg is a dedicated veterinary surgeon who graduated from South Africa (1990) who has also achieved recognition for his special interests in avian medicine and surgery, ophthalmology and acupuncture. He became a partner in 1998.

I graduated from the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies (Edinburgh) in 1998. My first job was as an intern in a large equine first opinion and referral practice in Kent. I have since worked in Berkshire and the Cotswolds in equine first opinion practices. I have also done a small amount of mixed practice work.

I am interested in all aspects of first opinion horse practice, but I am particularly keen on dentistry and lameness. I have ridden all my life, although I currently have no horse of my own. I help exercise a friends eventers, and my mother in laws 10 hh pony and 3 donkeys keep me entertained too!

Jess qualified from Edinburgh University in 2003 and went straight to the Three Counties Equine Hospital (Kearns & Rea) to take up a position as house surgeon. She then went on to become an assistant veterinary surgeon until 2007. During this time Jess was responsible for in-patient care, anaesthesia, neonatal intensive care, care of post-operative surgical cases and stud medicine. Following a year in equine practice in Yorkshire she joined the Woodlands team in September 2008.

A qualified veterinary nurse Jo joined us with 10 years experience in mixed veterinary practice. As Head Nurse Jo is responsible for the nurses and overall running of the clinical side of the practice.

Helen Brewster Helen Brewster

Helen started her career by gaining a 2:1 degree in equine studies in 2000. During her placement year she worked as an equine nurse at the Royal vet College and fell in love with nursing! After graduating she worked as an equine nurse at a large equine hospital, then decided to expand her career by moving into small animal nursing.

After qualifying as a veterinary nurse in 2004, Helen traveled the world with her husband for 8 months then joined Woodlands on her return.

Helen loves hands on nursing, especially medical nursing and has a soft spot for geriatric cats! She lives with her husband Ben, 2 rescue cats and Ben?s pet spiders!

 Emma joined the practice in January 2007 after deciding her routine 9-5 office job as a Marketing Executive was driving her crackers!  Outside work her motley crew of rescue animals keeps her busy which is bound to grow with each visit  the RSPCA guys make to the practice!  Having spent some time with us as a successful Customer Care Manager we are very pleased that Emma has decided to become a Veterinary Nurse and has started her training with us. We are  pleased to announce that Emma  passed her 1st year training in 2009 and has started her 2nd year.

Claire has always been interested in animals and studied at Hartpury College for two years after leaving school, achieving a national Diploma in Animal Management. During this time she also worked part-time in a veterinary practice. Qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 2005, she then joined us a year later and is hoping to develop her nursing skills, with a particular interest in dentistry and oral hygiene.

Equine Nursing Assistant

 
Ali joined the Woodlands team in April 2000. She started on reception and has since moved on to become the equine nursing assistant. Horses are her passion and she regularly competes her own horse 'Harry' (pictured). Ali has 2 grown-up sons, a naughty jack Russell and a rescue cat to keep her busy!

Bren is married with 3 children (the four legged variety!) (Rescue cats). She has worked at Woodlands since October 2002 and before that worked in reception at the star College. She has always wanted to work with animals and now hopes to remain here until she retires!

Naomi is married to Michael Daly and joined the practice in 1994 having spent several years in the financial sector. She is now responsible for the staff, administration, accounting and customer service.

I joined the practice with 11 years veterinary nursing experience in 2004 having spent the last five years teaching veterinary nurses. I have joined the team as practice manager working alongside Naomi.
