Taking your pet on holiday
Your pet:
- must have a MICROCHIP, which is permanent and can be read by any standard microchip reader.
- must be vaccinated against RABIES with an approved vaccine and have booster vaccinations as recommended.
- have a BLOOD TEST 14- 30 days after the vaccination.
On a SUCCESSFUL blood test result [providing your pet has the recommended vaccination boosters] no further blood tests are required.
Your pet can TRAVEL six months after the blood test.
On your RETURN from holiday - there are requirements for worming, flea and tic treatments to be performed by a veterinary surgeon at the PORT OF DEPARTURE.
Any dog, cat or ferret resident in the UK may travel and return to the UK from any of the EU countries listed below:
