Orchard House was built in the 1860s and the fine stone facade and porch have led to a Grade II Listing. The building has a long history as a Veterinary surgery. Francis Pickering started a Veterinary surgery in Hexham in 1904. He and his son Jock moved to Orchard House in 1947. When Pickering and Partners moved out in the 1970s, Orchard House was split between the solicitors Travis-Marston, Fewsters Garage and, later, Fewsters Bicycle Shop.
After complete internal reconstruction and refurbishment we opened in June 1998 as Orchard House Veterinary Centre.
Orchard House Veterinary Centre @ the Station, Stocksfield, Northumberland, NE43 7NJ.
The Station Veterinary Clinic was purpose built in the station yard at Stocksfield in 1987 by Veterinary Surgeon Christine Shield. In June 2004 Ms Shield retired from clinical Veterinary work, and the practice was bought by the present owner, Tim Pearson. An extensive refurbishment of the building was completed in 2009 which included a new entrance, the creation of a separate operating theatre, a new 'prep' room and upgraded dental facilities.
As at Hexham, Orchard House @ the Station is fully equipped with anaesthetic, X-ray and full operating facilities.
