Anthony SansomAnthony Sansom

Partner

BVetMed MRCVS

 
Tony is a Partner at Oakhill Veterinary Group, which he purchased from Alec Bell in October 1973. His particular areas of interest at work are opthalmology, sheep and cattle and Business Management. Other interests include ornithology and ski-ing.

Steve DodwellSteve Dodwell

Partner

BVSc MRCVS

 
Steve joined Oakhill Veterinary Group in 1978 and is now a Partner at the Practice. His particular area of interest at work is cardiology. Other interests include running (including marathons!), sailing - especially off-shore, Indian cuisine and a pint of Hawkshead Beer.

Matthew StablesMatthew Stables

Matthew joined Oakhill Veterinary Group in June 2002, although he started learning the trade here when he was 12 years old. He is now a Partner and General Practitioner at the Practice. His particular areas of interest at work are anaesthesia and medicine. Other interests include nature, fell walking, fly fishing, travel, astronomy and woodwork. After finishing his training at Liverpool University (with the help of Oakhill as his training practice), he worked in a manily large animal practice in Shrewsbury for 3 years, then a mainly small animal practice in Oxfordshire for 2 years. Prior to joining Oakhill, Matthew worked at a mixed practice in South Island, New Zealand, for 2 years.

Liz qualified from Liverpool University in 1985 gaining a distinction in equine studies. Having previously worked in Cumbria, Liz has joined us from a mixed practice in Wiltshire - she feels she has returned to her spiritual home!

Dawn GibsonDawn Gibson

Nursing Auxillary

 
Dawn joined Oakhill Veterinary Group in August 2003 as a Nursing Auxillary and is in her final year training to be a Veterinary Nurse. In her spare time Dawn enjoys fell walking with her partner Graham and their two dogs, Molly and Jess. She also writes articles for Trail and Country Walking magazines.

Nicola HodgsonVeterinary Nursing Assistant
 
Nicola joined the nursing team at Oakhill Veterinary Group in August 2006. Outside of work Nicola helps her parents on the family farm and is involved with her local young farmers group. Nicola also has a smallholding of her own with Gloucester Old Spot and Saddleback pigs (the latter of which has recently had a litter).

Rebecca MyersVeterinary Nursing Assistant
 
Becca joined Oakhill Veterinary Group in April 2006 as a part-time Nursing Assistant. When not at Oakhill, Becca is busy with her young son and helping her family with their bed and breakfast establishment.

Janet FoxJanet Fox

Receptionist/Administrator

 
Janet joined Oakhill Veterinary Group in November 2002. As well as her Reception duties, Janet is also responsible for organising and conducting the Puppy Parties. Outside of work she takes pet dog training classes and enjoys walking with her two Golden Retrievers, Willow and Amber.

Julie CroweJulie Crowe

Receptionist/Nursing Auxillary/Administrator

 
Julie joined Oakhill Veterinary Group in 2002. She is a Receptionist/Nursing Auxillary/Administrator, single-handedly managing our Branch Practice in Ambleside. Interests outside work include going to the cinema and swimming and ski-ing.

Diane WilliamsDiane Williams

Receptionist

 
Diane is the most recent addition to the workforce having re-joined Oakhill in January 2007, after bringing up her family. Outside of work Diane enjoys riding and walking with her family and dogs.

Amy TaylorAmy Taylor

Receptionist/Nursing Auxillary

 
Amy first came to Oakhill Veterinary Group on a work placement scheme while she was studying Animal Care at college. Amy started full-time in August 2004 and provides valuable support to both the Reception and Nursing teams.

Dawn DunnDawn Dunn

Part-time Receptionist

 
Having originally started as our Branch Practice Manager, Dawn now works part-time at the Windermere Surgery. When not at Oakhill, Dawn is kept busy with her horse and dogs.

Julie CoxJulie Cox

Part-time Receptionist

 
Julie originally joined Oakhill Veterinary Group in 1985 and has worked for the Practice intermittently since then, as her family commitments have allowed. Julie lives on a smallholding and has recently opened her own dog boarding kennels which accounts for much of her spare time.
