Consultations

Consultations are by appointment only (except for Saturday surgeries that are the only 'open' surgeries of the week).  This helps to prevent lengthy spells in the waiting room with frightened or fractious patients.  If you turn up without an appointment (and providing there is a vet on the premises) you will not be turned away but, except with genuine emergency situations, clients with appointments will be given priority.

We can virtually always arrange to see your pet on the day you telephone for an appointment, but please try to telephone as early in the day as possible.

Saturday

-  Consulting times 9.30 - 10.30 (no appointment necessary)

Ambleside

Monday-Friday: By appointment

"In An Emergency"

The practice provides a 24-hour service and we take this commitment extremely seriously.  Should you feel you need to contact a vet after normal opening hours, then telephone either surgery number.  You will be connected to the duty vet at home or sometimes to an answer service who will quickly arrange for the duty vet to telephone your back.  Sometimes we may be able to advise you over the telephone, other times we may need to examine your pet.

Please treat our on-call vet with respect.  They work nights and weekends, as well as a full week.  Only telephone us after hours if you feel you have a genuinely urgent problem.
