Flea Treatment
Fleas are a problem all year round so a good quality treatment like Frontline should be use in cats and dogs all through the year.
Worming
Worming is very important to the animal and owner alike as worms can cause many health problems for the animal and infect the owner as well, the animal should be treated every 3 to 6 months with a good quality all round wormer like Drontal.
Neutering
Neutering is recommended as it reduces the risk of dogs straying and aggression, bitches having unwanted litters and infections of the uterus in later life. Male cats will smell less and fight less and female cats will not need to be shut in every few months to stop litter after litter.
Dogs can be castrated at 6 – 9 months Bitches can be spayed at 6 – 7 months before 1st season All cats at 6 months
Insurance
Veterinary services can cost more than you had planed if you animal develops a life long medical problem like diabetes or has an accident so insurance is very important. It is not always best to go for the cheapest option as they may well exclude things after the first year so look for a policy that is life long. We have Pet Plan and DBI leaflets in the surgery for you to look at and use.
